Our Success Rate

ASV has a fairly good success rate – approximately 60 – 70% of residents are fully rehabilitated ie are able to lead a normal life and join the main stream of society; get employment, marry and have their own families. 20 to 25% are able to independently take care of themselves and engage in part time work; 10 – 15% leave before completing their treatment.

Unique Features

We collaborate closely with the client and family to design each person's program individually and activities are arranged to respect individual needs and interests. We use only optimum dosage of medication. We believe that people with mental illness can be taught to be aware and take responsibility for themselves, hence we need them to be less sedated. Because of this we use innovative methods when management becomes a problem & are not quick to hospitalize them. Therefore, we are able to accommodate residents from an acute phase to full recovery. Our staff resident ratio is almost 1:1

“Giving Today to Enable Tomorrow”.  Whether directly, or indirectly, mental illness can affect every member of the community. But, you can make a difference by joining us in our mission & make a donation to Athma Shakti Vidyalaya and help change lives.

How can you get involved with us?

At Athma Shakti Vidyalaya, we appreciate any kind of contributions or help which might facilitate us in improving or expanding our programmes. The ways you can get involved are as follows:

Supported Employment: You can provide employment opportunities to individuals who are ready to move out of the community after treatment.

Volunteer: You can spend time at ASV by conducting workshops/activities to engage with residents and undertake fundraising events for ASV.

Financial Donations: Our main source of income is from fees, which covers only 60% of our cost.  Over the years our annual increase in fees has not been according to the rate of inflation. We also provide free treatment for deserving residents from lower economic background.  This has resulted in a gradual financial shortfall of almost 40% per month, for which we rely on contributions. Your contributions will directly go towards meeting fees of those residents who cannot afford treatment expenses, staff development programmes, infrastructure maintenance and operation costs.

Donations in Kind: You can donate items such as books, stationary, linen, computers/Laptops, furniture, electronic appliance (refrigerators, UPS, washing machines, geysers) etc
